ASTM A479 Super Duplex UNS S32750 Fasteners is a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite (50/50) which has improved strength over ferritic and austenitic steel grades.

The duplex microstructure allows this grade of high strength super duplex UNS S32750 bar to have a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity than austenitic steels and is suitable for operating temperatures up to 300¡ãC.

In S31803, about half of the ferrite grains transform into austenite grains (“islands”) as the material cools to room temperature. The result is a microstructure of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite.
