AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Stainless Steel UNS N08904 stud bolt is hardnable and martensitic stainless steel with corrosion resistance similar to Type410, and also has higher carbon content to increase strength and hardness over Type 410. These stainless steel DIN1.4539 stud bolts can also be hardened through heat treatment, where in the instance, the material is heated to a minimum of 1472 degree F then quenched and cooled.

304L stainless pipe has slightly lower mechanical properties than standard 304 grades, but is still widely used due to its versatility. SME B16.47 317L Pipe Flange hardenability will be reduced if constant feeds and low speeds are used. 317L Stainless steel Flanges can be welded using fusion and resistance methods. In Grade 317 Stainless Steel Pipe flange oxyacetylene welding method is not preferred for this alloy. ASTM A182 SS 317L Slip On Flange does not react to heat treatment. A182 F317/F317L Flange can be hardened by cold working.

316 stainless steel has more carbon in it than 316L. This is easy to remember, as the L stands for “low.”

Type 304 stainless steel is a T 300 Series Stainless Steel austenitic. It has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon. It is defined as a Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy.304 stainless steel is used for a variety of household and industrial applications such as food handling and processing equipment, screws,[3] machinery parts, utensils, and exhaust manifolds. 304 stainless steel is also used in the architectural field for exterior accents such as water and fire features. It is also a common coil material for vaporizers.

ASTM A276 Type 309 is a material grade specification for cold-finished or hot-finished bars in 309 stainless steel, available in form of rounds, square, hexagons and other hot rolled extruded shapes. Grade 304 stainless steel is generally considered the most common austenitic stainless steel. It contains a high nickel content, typically between 8 and 10.5 weight percent, and a substantial amount of chromium around 18 to 20 weight percent. AISI 304H is a tough austenitic stainless steel subject to work hardening during deformation and, unless modified for improved machining response, is resistant to chip breaking. The best machining results are achieved with slower speeds, heavier feeds, excellent lubrication, sharp tooling, and powerful, rigid equipment.

316L stainless steel is an austenitic alloy often referred to as “marine grade stainless steel” because it is used in nearly 90% of marine applications – including filtration. In addition to metals such as iron and nickel, 316L contains 16-18% chromium and 2-3% molybdenum. These elements are important because they improve the alloy’s corrosion resistance; chromium interacts with oxygen in seawater to form a protective layer of chromium oxide, while molybdenum improves the metal’s resistance to pitting corrosion. Additionally, 316L has a lower carbon content (hence the use of “L” in its name), which gives it better protection against corrosion.

310/310S stainless steel pipe has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use in air up to 1035¡ãC and continuous use at 1050¡ãCin. These grades are resistant to oxidation, vulcanization and carburization.
