S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

304 stainless steel has excellent resistance to a wide range of atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. It will experience pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments, and stress corrosion cracking above about 60 ¡ãC. It is considered to be resistant to pitting corrosion in water up to about 400 mg/L chloride at ambient temperature, decreasing to about 150 mg/L at 60 ¡ãC.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly. Flanges are joined to each other by bolts, and to the piping system by welding or threading (or loose when stub ends are used). Stainless steel flange simplified as SS flange, it refers to the flanges that made of stainless steel. Common material standards and Grades are ASTM A182 Grade F304/L and F316/L, with pressure ratings from Class 150, 300, 600 etc and to 2500. It used in more industries than carbon steel as stainless steel has better resistant performances on corrosion environment and always provides with a good appearance.

ASTM A312 TP 310 is a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel suitable for high pressure and high temperature service. There are different grades such as ASME A213 and 312. Grade 310 is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent high temperature properties, as well as good ductility and weldability. Type 310 stainless steel tubing is typically used in high temperature applications. The high chromium and nickel content of grade 310 steel pipe provides excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance, as well as excellent strength at temperatures up to 2100¡ãF.

Stainless Steel 316 is an austenitic grade designed with excellent nickel and chromium content. This grade also contains a small amount of silicon, which improves the oxidation resistance of the module. In fact, stainless steel 1.4401 is often used in process streams containing halides such as chlorides because of its resistance to said compounds. The addition of molybdenum to stainless steel 316 tube alloys not only improves resistance to chloride pitting but also general corrosion.

Type 304 stainless steel is a T 300 Series Stainless Steel austenitic. It has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, combined with a maximum of 0.08% carbon. It is defined as a Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy.304 stainless steel is used for a variety of household and industrial applications such as food handling and processing equipment, screws,[3] machinery parts, utensils, and exhaust manifolds. 304 stainless steel is also used in the architectural field for exterior accents such as water and fire features. It is also a common coil material for vaporizers.

316 stainless steel bolts are made of corrosion-resistant and strong austenitic stainless steel. The material is composed of chromium, nickel, molybdenum and other elements. This provides a high yield strength of 205MPa and a minimum tensile strength of up to 515MPa for 316 stainless steel bolts and nuts.

Because stainless steel is also low-maintenance, oxidation resistant, and doesn t affect other metals it comes in contact with, it is frequently used in a large array of applications, especially in piping, tubing, and fittings manufacturing.

The ASTM A453 Grade 660 Grade D specification provides the yield strength, ie. 95 ksi 655 MPa] respectively for high temperature service, for bolted components such as studs, screws, nuts, hex bolts and various other fasteners for pressure vessel and valve flanges. ASTM A453 Grade 660 Grade D bolts are iron-based superalloy bolts made from an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with the addition of molybdenum and titanium. A453 660 Grade D Bolts maintain good strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1300oF.
