Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Monel 400 is a popular high performance nickel copper alloy commonly used in critical and high performance applications. Monel 400? has high strength, excellent resistance to acid and alkaline environments, and good ductility and thermal conductivity. This alloy maintains its properties and performance in temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000¡ãF (538¡ãC). Monel 400 can only be hardened by cold work.

Stainless steel 304 pipe fittings contain both chromium 18% – 20% and nickel 8% – 10.5%. It is an austenitic stainless steel and is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is a component that helps in change the direction of the flow such as tees and pipe bends.

Heat treatment the ASTM A105 Fittings is not a mandatory requirement. Although there is an exception for flanges that have an ASTM A105 Fitting Pressure Rating above Class 300.
