AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

304l stainless steel pipe has good machinability. Machining can be enhanced using the following rules: The cutting edge must remain sharp. Blunt edges can lead to excessive work hardening. The cuts should be light but deep enough to prevent work hardening on the surface of the material. A chip breaker should be used to help ensure that the chips remain concentrated at the cutting edge. It can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion, and also has good corrosion resistance and good stability in oxidizing and reducing media.
The mechanical properties are slightly better than 904L, and it can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels from -196 to 400 ¡ãC.

The 304, 316 and 316L stainless steel formulations are austenitic, a term used to classify the crystal structure of the steel.
