AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

Steel flanges provide an easy access for cleaning, inspection or modification. They usually come in round shapes but they can also come in square and rectangular forms. ASTM A479 can be described as a standard specification for stainless steel bars. They are available in custom shapes and sizes for use in boilers and pressure vessels. The material specification is available in four grades including austenitic, austenitic-ferritic, ferritic and martensitic grades. Stainless steel types 1.4401 and 1.4404 are also known as grades 316 and 316L respectively. Grade 316 is an austenitic grade second only to 304 in commercial importance.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

The flanges are made in different face types. The face types range as flat face, raised face and ring type joint. The SA182 F55 RTJ Flange has a ring type joint. The flange is fixed in two halves.

Compared to 302, stainless steel 309 studs have a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel for cold heading, typically for hot heading of large diameter or long bolts. One of the best properties of Grade 309 is its resistance to high or elevated temperatures. Similar to grade 310, the high chromium content in stainless steel 309 gives it this heat resistance.

These sheets have excellent tensile strength, creep rupture, and corrosion resistance, while also exhibiting excellent pitting and high temperature crevice resistance. In addition, it has excellent durability to withstand acid attack and withstand harsh climatic conditions.

321 stainless steel, also known as UNS S32100 and Grade 321, is primarily comprised of 17% to 19% chromium, 12% nickel, .25% to 1% silicon, 2% maximum manganese, traces of phosphorus and sulfur, 5 x (c + n) .70% titanium, with the balance being iron. With regards to corrosion resistance, 321 Stainless Steel is equivalent to Grade 304 in the annealed condition and is superior if the application involves service in the 797¡ã to 1652¡ã F range. 321 Stainless Steel combines high strength, resistance to scaling and phase stability with resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion.
UNS S32100 Reducing Tee is preferred due to its ability to work in high pressure and temperature even at a higher temperature.
Stainless Steel 321 / 321H Pipe Fittings are used in filtration, refrigeration, oil, gas, petrochemical and in offshore oil drilling industries. The material has chromium, nickel, titanium and other elements along with carbon. The 321H has higher carbon than the other versions. There are different types of fittings such as the 321/321H Stainless Steel Buttweld Fittings which are most commonly used but there are also the seamless fittings. The Stainless Steel UNS S32100 Pipe Elbow is a fitting type that is used in high temperature applications to change direction of flow.

Stainless Steel 316 is an austenitic marine grade tube. These pipes are designed with an excellent chemical composition consisting of chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Excellent composition gives these items enhanced corrosion and oxidation resistance in stress-induced environments.

It is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (over about 6mm). There is commonly no appreciable price difference between 316 and 316L stainless steel.
