The SMO grade is developed from the combination of nitrogen and molybdenum having an austenitic structure with down carbon amount. The full austenitic microstructure offers high performance in the quenched state. The structure of flanges become slightly harder when exposed in terms of higher temperatures. One of the main reasons why UNS S31254 is considered to be a superior stainless steel grade amongst other austenitic alloys is its corrosion resistance properties. The increased corrosion resistance properties of this alloy are due to the addition of nitrogen and molybdenum in its alloy. When nitrogen is added in any austenitic alloy, the yield strength, as well as resistance to pitting, is improved. We are offering these flanges in different standards, specifications, designations and custom dimensions. Stainless Steel 254SMO Flanges are highly alloyed with SS austenitic structure designed for severe marine applications. Moreover, it serves good performance in chemical containing environments even in the chloride containing media. In addition to molybdenum content adds excellent resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion cracking.
