AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

316L 1.4401 S31603 Stainless Steel Pipe is a highly versatile and durable pipe option commonly used in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Grade 304 stainless steel is generally considered the most common austenitic stainless steel. It contains a high nickel content, typically between 8 and 10.5 weight percent, and a substantial amount of chromium around 18 to 20 weight percent. Other major alloying elements include manganese, silicon and carbon. The rest of the chemical composition is mainly iron.

Due to its thin chemical composition, RA 253 MA is very economical compared to most heat resistant alloys. Stainless steel 253 MA fasteners have equivalent grades such as UNS S30815, standard SS 253 MA and its WERKSTOFF NR. is 1.4835. The mechanical properties in the specified limit minimum are its 2″ elongation of 40%, its ultimate tensile strength of 87,000 psi, its area reduction of 50%, and its offset yield strength of 45,000 psi.

Stainless Steel 316L Flange is used to terminate the end of a piping system. The Stainless Steel 316L blind flange is basically a flange that does not have a hub or a bored center. Blind flanges have the face thickness of a flange, a matching face type, and similar bolting pattern. Although both of these steels are considered low carbon steel alloys, they are quite different. AISI 904L Studs are used to hold components together such as flanges, valves, filters and other plumbing components. While both 304 and 316 stainless steels are strong, the addition of molybdenum to 316 gives it a slight advantage over 304 in strength. With 316 stainless steel, you can expect better resistance to chloride corrosion and pitting than 304 stainless steel, as well as higher strength at elevated temperatures.

304/304l is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment. For 304 stainless steel tube heat resistance, it has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use at 8700C and continuous use at 9250C. Continuous use of 304 in the 425-8600C range is not recommended if subsequent water corrosion resistance is important. Grade 304L is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be heated to the above temperature range.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object (as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails). The term “flange” is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.

The standards vary from B16.5, B16.47 and in different series A and B. There are different types based on the production such as the ASME SA182 grade 316TI Weld neck flange. The weld neck flanges are useful because of the neck welded onto the flanges, they allow for better grip. The different standards such as DIN 1.4571 Flange determine the size, diameter and wall thickness of the flanges.

431 is a high chromium, low nickel, high hardenability martensitic stainless steel with high strength and good corrosion resistance. Compared to other 400 stainless grades, 431 stainless steel is designed to improve corrosion resistance and toughness, especially in quench hardened stainless steel. The 431 will perform well in marine environments as well as in aerospace applications such as aircraft fasteners and accessories. This alloy has great impact strength at high hardness levels.

Incoloy 926 is more heat resistant than typical chrome-nickel stainless steel such as 304. The high nickel contained within gives it better oxidation resistance than the standard 18-8 type stainless steel.
