Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Incoloy 825 is a nickel-based alloy generally similar to Alloy 20 in water corrosion. It has useful resistance to boiling sulfuric acid up to 40% strength, 60% strength at 176¡ãF, and 150¡ãF at all concentrations.

UNS N08825 Flange Incoloy 825 Flanges (UNS N08825) is composed of addition of molybdenum, copper, and titanium into its nickel-iron-chromium base. The extra metals give Incoloy 825 Blind Flange exceptional resistance against corrosion, even more so than other nickel alloys.

304 stainless steel has excellent resistance to a wide range of atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. It will experience pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments, and stress corrosion cracking above about 60 ¡ãC. It is considered to be resistant to pitting corrosion in water up to about 400 mg/L chloride at ambient temperature, decreasing to about 150 mg/L at 60 ¡ãC.
