Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

A stainless steel butt weld cap is a type of pipe fitting that covers the end of a pipe. Since it can have female threads, it can screw on to the male end of the pipe. It can also be welded on to close the end of the pipe. On a weld, if it is a temporary close, or the contractor wants to add to the piping system in the future, he or she should allow additional pipe before closing so the pipe cap can be cut off and the pipe system extended as needed. This way you will not have less pipe than you need and the new fitting can be attached correctly.

HASTELLOY C276 is a Nickel-chromium-molybdenum wrought alloy that is considered the most versatile corrosion resistant alloy available. Alloy C-276 is frequently used in many industries, including chemical and petrochemical processing, oil and gas, power generation, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper production and waste water treatment. End use applications include stack liners, ducts, dampers, scrubbers, stack gas reheaters, heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporators, transfer piping and many other highly corrosive applications.

Carbon steel forgings, manufactured in accordance with ASTM A105, are generally used for piping applications. These forged carbon steel piping components (including flanges, fittings, and valves, etc) are used for ambient- and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. The A105N, which is designated with a suffix ¡°N¡±, denotes that the A105 forging shall be furnished in normalized condition. If the forgings are used for piping applications of ASME BPVC or ASME B31, the material shall be its identical equivalent of SA-105 or SA-105N. In short, the heat treatment of normalization distinguishes A105N from A105, or SA-105N from SA-105. ASTM A105 Flange is a specification of flanges. The specification can include different grades of stainless steel material made flanges. The flanges are of forged carbon steel and are meant for high temperature services.
