SS 309 is the nickel and chromium-based austenitic SS and it is employed for those parts that demand oxidation resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. Strength at different temperatures is identical to the 18/8 SS. This material is possessing very good oxidation resistance ability in addition to the creep and high tensile strength at very high temperatures. Stainless Steel 309 Threaded Flange is also greatly resistant to marine atmosphere and is also considered to be a heat resistant material. SS 310 is the austenitic SS material. It is designed for the use at the elevated temperature and corrosion-resistant purposes. UNS S30908 Flange under the mildly cyclic condition is resisting oxidation to 1100 deg C. Due to greater chromium content and average nickel, it becomes sulfidation resistant. It is used at the cementing, thermal cycling, oxidizing, and nitriding applications. When it is given heat treatment, it becomes subjected to the sigma phase precipitations. SS 310S a lower carbon content alloy is used due to its fabrication ease.
