AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

Grade 1.4404 or 316L is an austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 with very good corrosion resistance due to its high chromium and molybdenum content and low carbon content. Its strength in the hardened state is about 600 MPa for large diameters, but for small sections, the strength can be increased by cold working.

In mild or corrosive environments, 904l stainless steel bolts are resistant to highly corrosive reducing agents. Additional features of 904L stainless steel bolts include excellent toughness, non-magnetic properties, formability and weldability. At the same time, the stainless steel Din 1.4539 bolt is an unsteady austenitic alloy with low carbon content, which is resistant to SCC and crevice corrosion. Austenitic construction also offers stainless steel UNS NO8904 bolts for excellent durability, even down to low temperatures.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. It is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with high nickel (24%), chromium (22%), molybdenum (6%), and nitrogen (0.18%) content and is commonly known as superaustenitic stainless steel (alloys such as 254 SMO (UNS?S31254) and 904L (UNS?N08904) also fall under the superaustenitic designation) while 2205 (UNS S32305/ S31803) and 2507 (UNS S32750) are duplex and super duplex stainless steel, respectively.

Stainless Steel 316L Flange is used to terminate the end of a piping system. The Stainless Steel 316L blind flange is basically a flange that does not have a hub or a bored center. Blind flanges have the face thickness of a flange, a matching face type, and similar bolting pattern. The solution annealing treatment is required prior age hardening / precipitation hardening. The single phase microstructure created during solution annealing is required prior to age hardening, such that only the precipitates formed during age hardening will be present in the final product. The composition, size, and quantities of those precipitates formed during aging will determine the final product’s hardness, strength, and mechanical properties after aging. It is critical that the structure be properly solution treated prior to aging in order to meet all of these requirements.

For tubing and piping applications, type 304 stainless steel is a common selection because it is highly chemical- and corrosion-resistant. However, type 304 stainless steel is not compatible with applications where temperatures fall between 800 and 1640 degrees Fahrenheit (F) because it is prone to carbide precipitation, a result of the material¡¯s .08 percent carbon content limit.
