It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

The 317L (00Cr19Ni13Mo3, UNS S31726) alloy is a molybdenum-based austenitic stainless steel. It is more resistant to chemical corrosion than conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304 alloy. In addition, compared with conventional stainless steel, 317L alloy has higher ductility, stress corrosion resistance, compressive strength and high temperature resistance. It is a low carbon grade or L grade, which is resistant to sensitization during welding and heat treatment.
Compared with 316L, 317L steel has good seawater resistance and SCC resistance, and is used in chemical ships, chemical products Reactor and other chemical equipment requiring high corrosion resistance.

The Stainless Steel 304 Pipe Fittings are also strong. They have 205MPa minimum yield strength and 515MPa minimum tensile strength.

One tension test shall be made for each heat of ASTM A182 F51 flanges. One set of three Charpy V-notch tests shall be performed for each heat of products.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

While the chemical composition of stainless steel 304l round bars may not differ much from grade 304, this alloy has undoubtedly proven to be very useful. This low carbon ASME SA479 Type 304l round bar has been modified to increase its weldability.

Grade 316 is a popular alloy of stainless steel with a melting range of 2,500 ¡ãF ¨C 2,550 ¡ãF (1,371 ¡ãC ¨C 1,399 ¡ãC). As an austenitic stainless steel alloy, it has qualities such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and high concentrations of chromium and nickel. The alloy has a tensile strength of 579 MPa (84 ksi) and a maximum use temperature of around 800?C (1,472?F).
