Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. Alloy 625 is especially useful where oxidation resistance and pitting avoidance are required. In the annealed condition, this Inconel is fully austenitic and suitable for machining. Due to its high alloy content, it provides excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of severely corrosive environments. With a nickel content of nearly 60%, it is virtually immune to stress corrosion cracking.

304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel.When it comes to uses, SS304 can be found in kitchen sinks and other appliances such as toasters and microwave ovens. SS304 is also used to make pressure vessels, wheel covers as well as for building facades.

Grade 316, and grade 304, may suffer stress corrosion cracking in solutions containing chloride ions at temperatures over about 60¡ãC. Stress corrosion cracking should be considered for all corrosion services where the corrosive liquid may contain chloride.

Alloy 725 (UNS N07725) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy that is highly corrosion resistant and age hardened to twice the strength of annealed alloy 625. The strength of Alloy 725 is increased by heat treatment rather than cold treatment. This also gives strength to large uneven parts that cannot be strengthened by cold work. Alloy 725 is used for hangers, landing joints and high strength fasteners in marine applications.

In the annealed condition, S31803 contains approximately 40-50% ferrite. S31803 is often referred to as the workhorse grade and is the most widely used grade in duplex stainless steel pipes. The use of S31803 stainless steel pipe should be limited to temperatures below 600¡ãF.

Chromium Molybdenum Alloy Steel or Chromium Molybdenum, CrMo is an alloy steel used for high temperature and high pressure service. Chromium molybdenum is used in power generation and petrochemical industries for its tensile strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. Chromium molybdenum has a better strength-to-weight ratio than steel, which enables designers to use thinner walled tubing or smaller diameter tubing to reduce overall weight.

The flanges are sealed with gaskets. Flanges are threaded (threaded) and welded. For stainless steel flange, appropriate stability elements such as Ti, Nb and Mo are added to improve corrosion resistance and weldability. The weldability is better than that of chrome stainless steel flange.

Stainless steel flange not only refers to a kind of stainless steel flange, but also represents more than 100 kinds of industrial stainless steel flanges. Each type of stainless steel has good performance in its specific application field. First, the purpose of flange shall be clarified, and then the correct stainless steel grade shall be determined. Common stainless steels are 304, 304L, 316, 316L, etc. They all contain chromium, nickel and other chemical components. For example, the addition of molybdenum can further improve the atmospheric corrosion, especially the corrosion resistance to the atmosphere containing chloride.

Stainless grade 316Ti contains a small amount of titanium. The titanium content is usually only around 0.5%. Titanium atoms stabilize the structure of 316 at temperatures in excess of 800¡ãC.

Nickel alloy 20 is a low-carbon, niobium-stabilized austenitic nickel/iron/chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. ASTM B366 specification covers Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and Nickel Alloy Pipe Fittings used in acidic and sea water.

Nickel Alloy 600, also sold under the brand name Inconel 600.

Austenitic has a low strength and a low resistance to stress corrosion cracking, while ferritic also has a low strength, poor weldability and poor low temperature toughness. Producing a chemical composition that combines austenitic and ferritic results in a metal that has a higher strength, good weldability, good toughness and resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

The increase of carbon element content makes the steel sturdier and stiffer after the heat treatment, and it also becomes less ductile. Without the heat treatment, higher carbon will reduce weldability.

Nickel Alloy 600 works well with most alkaline solutions and sulfur compounds and also provides lower rate of attack from chlorine or hydrogen chloride.

Hastelloy C22 fasteners are a general-purpose grade composed of chromium, nickel, molybdenum and tungsten alloys. These designs are designed to increase resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking (SSC) and crevice corrosion cracking. Alloy C-22 has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides, chlorine, hot fouling solutions (organic and inorganic), formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and seawater and Brine solution. C-22 alloy resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone and is therefore suitable for most chemical process applications in as-welded conditions.
