UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

304 stainless steel has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use up to 870¡ãC and continuous use up to 925¡ãC. However, if corrosion resistance in water is required, continuous use at 425-860¡ãC is not recommended. In this case, 304L is recommended because of its resistance to carbide precipitation.

317/317L is a molybdenum containing austenitic steel with low carbon content. The increased content of chromium, nickel and molybdenum makes the grade more corrosion and chemical resistant. It has reliable robustness at high temperatures and offers an unmatched level of manufacturability. These properties of the SS317/317L facilitate its utilization in the aerospace and steel industries. In addition to this, our SS 317/317L flanges have excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion.

Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-containing grade, second only to 304 in importance in austenitic stainless steels. Compared to 304, molybdenum imparts better overall corrosion resistance to 316, especially higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.

Both alloys work well at temperatures up to 2000¡ãF, especially where oxidation resistance is required. 310 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with good oxidation and corrosion resistance due to the high ratio of chromium to nickel.

316 stainless steel pipe bend has very low responsiveness to magnetic fields. Unlike basic stainless steels, which are ferromagnetic, most stainless steel varieties (including 316) are austenitic ¡ª or effectively nonmagnetic.

304L is preferred. And it lacks a minimum carbon content, which is not ideal for high temperature applications where optimum strength is required, so 304H is the first choice. Thus, 304 is generally limited to rods or sheets that are to be machined into components that do not require welding, or sheets formed in articles, such as kitchen sinks or cookware, which are also not welded.
