Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

Alloy 718 Flange Grade 718 Inconel Flange is the most common grade of the hardenable Inconel. This precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy combines outstanding corrosion resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures. The alloy is an about 2x as strong as Inconel grade 625 having excellent creep-rupture strength at temperatures to 1300¡ãF (700¡ãC) and usable up to 1800¡ãF (982¡ãC). Like steel, 316 stainless steel is primarily composed of iron and carbon. Seamless steel pipes have a hollow section and are used in large quantities as pipelines for transporting fluids, such as pipelines for transporting oil, natural gas, gas, water and certain solid materials. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, steel pipe is lighter in flexural and torsional strength and is an economical section steel.

Monel bolts, such as Monel 400 and K500, are made of nickel-copper alloys and exhibit high strength, toughness and good corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range. A standout feature of Monel bolts is their excellent resistance to hydrofluoric acid, a particularly difficult acid to handle, at all concentrations up to the boiling point. For hydrofluoric acid applications, Monel bolts are probably the most corrosion resistant of all commonly used specialty alloys.

Carbon steel forgings, manufactured in accordance with ASTM A105, are generally used for piping applications. These forged carbon steel piping components (including flanges, fittings, and valves, etc) are used for ambient- and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. The A105N, which is designated with a suffix ¡°N¡±, denotes that the A105 forging shall be furnished in normalized condition. If the forgings are used for piping applications of ASME BPVC or ASME B31, the material shall be its identical equivalent of SA-105 or SA-105N. In short, the heat treatment of normalization distinguishes A105N from A105, or SA-105N from SA-105. ASTM A105 Flange is a specification of flanges.
