Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is magnetic, but less magnetic than steel. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes.[1]

S32760 was originally developed as a seawater resistant material for pump applications in the North Sea.

Inconel 825 or Alloy 825 can be used for round bar, pipe, tube, sheet and plate. Inconel 825 is used in oil and gas or petrochemical applications and some marine and sour environments.

These alloys of flanges are basically non-magnetic but feature superior higher strength at a temperature range of 1500 degree F. whereas show good oxidation resistance up to 2200 degree F.

254SMO is non-magnetic, may be easier to weld, and has a wider operating temperature range when used with super duplex stainless steel. However, due to its higher nickel and molybdenum content, it is much more expensive and much less strong.

317L stainless steel fasteners are used in applications utilizing reclaimed water, such as power generation and pulp mill condensers. Other common uses are in the food and beverage industry.

Long butt weld flanges, also known as LWN flanges, are similar to the standard. Weld neck flange, but the neck is much longer.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly. Flanges are joined to each other by bolts, and to the piping system by welding or threading (or loose when stub ends are used). Stainless steel flange simplified as SS flange, it refers to the flanges that made of stainless steel. Common material standards and Grades are ASTM A182 Grade F304/L and F316/L, with pressure ratings from Class 150, 300, 600 etc and to 2500. NAS NW276 is a Ni Cr Mo alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. In this alloy, carbide precipitation in the heat affected zone (HAZ) is suppressed and corrosion resistance is improved by reducing the contents of C and Si.

These flanges exhibit superior resistance to carburization and chloride stress corrosion cracking in reducing atmospheres.

Alloy 625 has proven to be a highly regarded building material due to its ability to solve a variety of design and application problems.

Strength can be measured using tensile strength, corrosion resistance and even melting resistance. Inconel 625 bar has a tensile strength range of 103-160 Ksi, higher than stainless steel’s 73.2 Ksi, and can withstand higher temperatures. Inconel 625 bar is a super alloy because of their corrosion resistance and suitability for high pressure and high temperature applications.
