Nickel alloys are some of the most useful materials for manufacturing technically superior pipes and tubes for industrial applications. Their inherent properties make them viable for a wide range of uses. Nickel alloys are exceptionally corrosion resistant and can be used in high-temperature environments.

Super Duplex 2507 (F53 / 1.4410 / UNS S32750) has excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of media, and has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride-containing environments, with a critical pitting temperature exceeding 50¡ãC.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object (as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails). The term “flange” is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.

This alloy of flanges ensures excellent formability and weldability. Therefore these are cold and hot worked.

310 and 310s are used in power generation applications; used in gas generator trims, pulverized coal burners and pipe hangers. Sinter plants and cement plants also take advantage of the properties of this stainless steel sheet in burners and burner shrouds, feed, discharge systems and wind boxes.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

The main components of ASTM A335 grade P91 are also molybdenum (Moly) and chromium (Chrome). These elements provide pipes with specific properties such as enhanced corrosion resistance and increased overall strength, creep resistance and wear resistance.

In strong oxidizing solutions like hot, concentrated nitric acid, 600 has poor resistance.

The severity of corrosive environments may require annealing after welding or using 304L. Type 304L has a carbon content of 0.03% or less. This alloy can be used in the as-welded state without being affected by intergranular corrosion.
