Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

Nickel-copper-based alloy 400 Monel 2.4360 cold drawn rod is virtually immune to chloride stress-related corrosion cracking when exposed to corrosive media in typical environments. Monel 400 is a copper and nickel based alloy that is popular today due to its high performance. The alloy has excellent acid and alkali resistance. Inconel 625 material has excellent strength and hardness. They have a minimum tensile strength of 120Ksi and a minimum yield strength of 60ksi. In addition to that, they can easily be stretched up to 30% and still have excellent workability.

It is available in materials of ASTM A 182, and ASTM A 105. The flanges are available in various grades like ASME B16 47 ¡®A¡¯ Series, and ¡®B¡¯ Series to suit the needs of the clients and the industry.

The standards vary from B16.5, B16.47 and in different series A and B. There are different types based on the production such as the ASME SA182 grade 316TI Weld neck flange. The weld neck flanges are useful because of the neck welded onto the flanges, they allow for better grip. The different standards such as DIN 1.4571 Flange determine the size, diameter and wall thickness of the flanges.

This material is durable, cost lower, and difficult to break. In case used in a stainless steel piping system it shall be adapted with a lap joint end ring.

Carbon steel fasteners are often coated with industrial PTFE (short for polytetrafluoroethylene) in applications that require high strength and corrosion resistance and are economically viable. These salts may develop when hydrochloric acid comes in contact with iron and copper. Therefore, if this alloy is used in conjunction with iron or copper piping in a system containing hydrochloric acid, the presence of these salts could cause the alloy to fail prematurely.

304 stainless steel does have one weakness: it is susceptible to corrosion from chloride solutions or saline environments such as the coast.

904L grade stainless steel is unlike any other steel. Due to its extra amounts of chromium, molybdenum, nickel and copper, 904L steel features superior resistance to corrosion, rust and acids.

These grades of austenitic stainless steels are the most versatile and widely used stainless steels. They exhibit excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of corrosive environments. Grade 304 and 304L stainless steel pipes exhibit good machinability and excellent weldability with or without filler metal additions.

ASTM A320 bolts are suitable for low temperature service down to -150¡ãF and have a minimum Charpy impact value of 20-ft-lbf at this temperature. ASTM A320 Hex Bolts must obtain the durability and service of high temperature or high pressure and corrosion resistant steel.
