C22 nickel alloy fasteners offer better overall corrosion resistance than its sister alloy Hastelloy C-276, and more specifically, it offers better protection when used in certain saturated wet chlorine environments. Additionally, its high chromium content provides C22 fasteners with better resistance to oxidative media than C276. This makes it excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting, although in most cases C-276 fasteners are a more cost-effective option due to their availability, especially in sizes smaller than 1/ 2″ case.

Alloy B Its popularity has been hindered by its availability. All of these materials are good against reducing acids, but very hard against oxidizing acids. Due to the high molybdenum content, this alloy is relatively expensive than other alloys. At the same time, it has excellent corrosion resistance to medium-concentrated sulfuric acid and various non-oxidizing acids, good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and good resistance to various organic acids.

Hastelloy X is extremely resistant to stress corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. All product forms are excellent in forming and welding.
