The Corrosion Resistant HASTELLOY alloys are widely used by the chemical processing industries. The need for reliable performance leads to their acceptance and growth in the areas of energy, health and environmental, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and flue gas desulfurization industries.

It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

Hastelloy C2000 Tubes are used in a broad range of industries including petrochemical processing, chemical processing equipment manufacturing, oil refineries and power plants.

This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

Hastelloy C2000 is available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses, this type of nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy is renowned for its superior strength and corrosion resistance.

Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with significant resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Hastelloy B2 is resistant to pure sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acids. This alloy should not be used in the presence of oxidative contaminants in oxidizing or reducing media. Premature failure may occur if Alloy B2 is used in the presence of iron or copper in systems containing hydrochloric acid.

Hastelloy C-276 fasteners and other products in the Hastelloy family have excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidizing and reducing chemicals. Due to its adaptability, Hastelloy C-276 alloy can be used in problem areas and is more likely to occur in process areas. In Hastelloy C276 hex bolts, the chromium content is increased to about 21% and the molybdenum content is reduced to about 13%. Hastelloy C276 Heavy Duty Hex Bolts also provide optimum resistance to environments encountered in reducing and oxidizing conditions in the process stream.

Hastelloy B-3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and better thermal stability than alloy B-2. Hastelloy C22, also known as Alloy C22, is a general purpose austenitic nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. High chromium content provides good oxidation resistance, while molybdenum and tungsten content provides good reduction resistance. Hastelloy C22 alloy also has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine and nitric acid-containing mixtures or oxidizing acids containing chloride ions.

Alloy X is known for its excellent high temperature strength and can withstand temperatures up to 2200¡ãF. The alloy can also be easily fabricated by manual and automated methods with forming and welding properties. In addition, Hastelloy X is resistant to corrosion, heat and oxidation and can withstand reducing or neutral atmospheres and oxidation.

The low carbon minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain resistance to intergranular attack in heat-affected zones of welded joints.

The primary alloy base materials for Hastelloy C276 include metals such as nickel, molybdenum and chromium. In addition to these three metals, Hastelloy C276 fasteners also have tungsten added. It is well known that the addition of tungsten to superalloys can improve the corrosion resistance of alloys in various harsh environments. Hastelloy C-276 alloy has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot fouling media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride , seawater and brine solutions.

A nickel alloy of this type also has great resistance to hydrochloric acid at different concentrations and temperatures.

The ASTM B622 Hastelloy B2 Seamless Pipe especially is known to exhibit excellent resistance to corrosion in aggressive reducing media such as hydrochloric acid.

Chemical processing plants use high-end, high-precision tubing, such as Ni C276 hot-worked tubing. There are also resistance welded pipes. Hastelloy C276 Alloy EFW Tubing is easy to use. This nickel steel alloy has good resistance to heat affected and knife-line zone attack. This alloy also bears the brunt of formic, sulfuric, phosphoric, acetic acids and various other non-oxidizing media.

Each of them have structural differences. These flanges are made up of a nickel, chromium, molybdenum alloy that has 50% nickel 14% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in the composition.

Alloy C-276 has excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It is also one of the few materials that can withstand the corrosive effects of wet chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide.

It can be used in flue gas desulfurization systems due to its excellent resistance to sulfur compounds and chloride ions in most scrubbers.

Hastelloy B3 Threaded Flange (UNS N10675) has great resistance to knife ¨C line and heat ¨C affected zone attack. Hastelloy B3 Slip On Flange has a special chemistry designed to achieve greater thermal stability than B-2 alloy, resulting in easier fabrication. Hastelloy B3 Spectacle Blind Flanges have good creep and oxidation resistance.

Hastelloy fasteners such as bolts, screws, nuts and threaded rods are ideal for use in a variety of moderately to severely corrosive acid environments. The most common grade of Hastelloy fasteners is Hastelloy C276 (2.4819), which is one of the most versatile corrosion-resistant nickel alloys, surpassing Inconel or Monel. There are also other special grades of Hastelloy fasteners that can address more niche corrosion problems.
