AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly. Flanges are joined to each other by bolts, and to the piping system by welding or threading (or loose when stub ends are used). Stainless steel flange simplified as SS flange, it refers to the flanges that made of stainless steel. Common material standards and Grades are ASTM A182 Grade F304/L and F316/L, with pressure ratings from Class 150, 300, 600 etc and to 2500. 321 stainless steel, also known as UNS S32100 and Grade 321, is primarily comprised of 17% to 19% chromium, 12% nickel, .25% to 1% silicon, 2% maximum manganese, traces of phosphorus and sulfur, 5 x (c + n) .70% titanium, with the balance being iron. With regards to corrosion resistance, 321 Stainless Steel is equivalent to Grade 304 in the annealed condition and is superior if the application involves service in the 797¡ã to 1652¡ã F range. 321 Stainless Steel combines high strength, resistance to scaling and phase stability with resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion.

AWS E317L/ER317L filler metal or austenitic, low carbon filler metal with higher molybdenum content than ASME SA182 SS 317L flanges, or nickel based filler metal with sufficient chromium and molybdenum content to exceed 317L corrosion resistance should be used for welding 317L steel.

It is also not necessary to anneal thin sections after welding. It is widely used in food industry, water, construction, low temperature and high temperature applications. Widely used in premium cutlery, it is described as 18/8, referring to the percentage of chromium and nickel.

AL 6XN threaded rods are super austenitic AL 6XN threaded rods are super austenitic, made from an alloy containing limited carbon content of chromium, nickel and molybdenum.
