Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Incoloy 800H is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy having the same basic composition as Incoloy 800, with significantly higher creep-rupture strength.

Due to its thin chemical composition, RA 253 MA is very economical compared to most heat resistant alloys. Alloy 800 bolts (WNR 1.4876 bolts) resist embrittlement due to nickel-containing sigma-phase precipitation and chloride stress corrosion cracking. It has further modifications to the combined levels of aluminium and titanium (0.85-1.20%) to ensure optimum high temperature performance.
