high-temperature strength. It has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stresscorrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. X alloy exhibits good ductility after prolonged exposure at temperatures of 1200, 1400, 1600¡ãF (650, 760 and 870¡ãC) for 16,000
hours.

Carbon steel fasteners are often coated with industrial PTFE (short for polytetrafluoroethylene) in applications that require high strength and corrosion resistance and are economically viable. SAE-AISI 1018, 1020, 1040, 1045/CK45 are common carbon steel grades used to produce these fasteners.
