Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

Nickel based 800 Incoloy Hexagonal Pipe is known to have a good resistance to corrosion. Specifically speaking, the Incoloy 800 Pipe offers sufficient resistance against both carburization as well as oxidation corrosion.

Carbon steel is a steel in which the main alloying element is carbon. Steel is considered carbon steel when there are no minimum requirements for chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, nickel, titanium, tungsten or other alloying elements. Carbon steel can be made harder and stronger through heat treatment. These hardness and strength measurements are determined by the carbon content – the higher the carbon content, the harder and stronger the steel will be.

The key to the P5 composition of chromium-molybdenum alloys is the addition of chromium and molybdenum. Chromium or chromium increases high temperature strength, increases oxidation resistance and increases tensile, yield and hardness at room temperature. Molybdenum improves strength, elastic limit, wear resistance, impact quality and hardenability. It increases resistance to softening, inhibits grain growth, and makes chrome steel less susceptible to embrittlement. Molybdenum is also the most effective additive for increasing high temperature creep strength or creep resistance. It also enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel and inhibits pitting corrosion.

Inconel 718 flanges are used in aerospace, gas turbines, rocket engines, spacecraft, space shuttles, nuclear reactors, pumps, turbo pump seals and tooling.

Some of the typical applications of duplex steel grade 2205 are oil and gas exploration, processing equipment, transport, storage and chemical process, high chloride and marine environments, paper machines, liquor tanks, pulp, and paper digesters.

Monel 400 is a flexible nickel (63% minimum) – copper (34% maximum) alloy retaining strength and toughness at low temperatures while still being effective at temperatures around 1000 degrees F.

Incoloy 800H is a higher carbon version of the alloy 800. The Incoloy 800H Pipe is designed with a superior chemical composition consisting of 30 to 35% of nickel with 19 to 23% of chromium and other constituent alloys.

ASTM A182 F5 flanges are made of chrome-molybdenum steel alloy and therefore have high fracture resistance. Their low weight is also preferred due to their low carbon and high alloy properties. It is very resistant to sulfide corrosion cracking and can also withstand the attack of hydrogen.

It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is readily brake or roll formed into a variety of parts for applications in the industrial, architectural, and transportation fields. Grade 316 also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.

This combination of the four most predominant elements in inconel 625 also gives Inconel 625 wn flange grade 150 excellent resistance to a variety of unusually severe corrosive environments and high temperature effects such as chemical oxidation and carburization effect.

Grade 316 pipe bend is relatively easy to machine, although more difficult than carbon steel. More power is required to machine grade 316. Cutting speed should be lower, the feed higher, tooling and equipment heavier.

The bottom line is that Type 316 stainless costs a little more up front, but you can save a lot on the back end — especially if your enclosure is going to be used outdoors.

Hastelloy C22 fasteners are a general-purpose grade composed of chromium, nickel, molybdenum and tungsten alloys. These designs are designed to increase resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking (SSC) and crevice corrosion cracking. It has high chromium content and good resistance to oxidizing media. The presence of molybdenum and tungsten provides good resistance to reducing media. Its nickel content provides admirable resistance to oxidizing aqueous media.

Another important characteristic of Monel 400 Blind Flange is its resistance to halides or halogen containing solutions.

2101 is a low nickel, lean duplex stainless steel possessing both superior strength and chloride stress-corrosion cracking resistance when compared to 300 series stainless steel.

Class 150 Uns N05500 Socket Weld Flanges the Monel 400 Flanges shows evidence of excellent temperature. On the other hand, properties such as Strength and hardness of the Monel 400 Lap Joint Flange is only slightly diminished with regards to the other properties like ductility or impact resistance.
