Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

All grades of ASTM A694 F42 shall be heat treated. Heat treatment of carbon steels and high strength low alloy steels can include normalizing, normalizing and tempering, or quenching and tempering. The heat treatment of alloy steel may include normalizing and precipitation heat treatment or quenching and precipitation heat treatment. The tempering temperature should be at least 1000¡ãF [540¡ãC]. Precipitation heat treatment for alloy steels should be in the range of 1000 to 1225 ¡ãF [540 to 665 ¡ãC].

Alloy 20 (Alloy 20) is an iron-based austenitic alloy developed to resist sulfuric acid corrosion. It has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion; it has strong resistance to phosphoric acid, nitric acid and chloride environments, chloride stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and crack corrosion. Therefore, alloy 20 has the name of anti-corrosion alloy; it has a wide range of applications: such as: chemical, food, medicine, power production and plastics industries will use it. For resistance to pitting corrosion and chloride corrosion, stress corrosion cracking problems, etc., alloy 20 is often used.

The 317L (00Cr19Ni13Mo3, UNS S31726) alloy is a molybdenum-based austenitic stainless steel. It is more resistant to chemical corrosion than conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304 alloy. In addition, compared with conventional stainless steel, 317L alloy has higher ductility, stress corrosion resistance, compressive strength and high temperature resistance. It is a low carbon grade or L grade, which is resistant to sensitization during welding and heat treatment.
Compared with 316L, 317L steel has good seawater resistance and SCC resistance, and is used in chemical ships, chemical products Reactor and other chemical equipment requiring high corrosion resistance.

One of the most widely used general purpose grades of hardenable Inconel alloys, Inconel 718 contains chromium-nickel with minor additions of aluminum and titanium.

Thread friction between the nut and bolt creates a strong, steady and even force holding the componenuts together. The most commonly used ASTM A182 UNS S32205 fastener nuts are regular hex nuts. At the same time, duplex stainless steel fasteners are strong and corrosion resistanut, combining the healthy properties of ferrite and austenite. Cooling units in many desalination plants and power plants use seawater to keep equipment cool, but salt water is a problem and can cause corrosion in pipes. This can be solved using ASTM B171 Copper Nickel Forged Fittings which are environmentally friendly and easy to assemble without any threaded or bolted connections and no corrosion in the pipe.

N04400 is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Alloy N04400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acid-like substances), brine, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Other advantages of using this alloy are toughness and high strength over a wide temperature range; it can also be manipulated to be magnetic if desired.

304L is preferred. And it lacks a minimum carbon content, which is not ideal for high temperature applications where optimum strength is required, so 304H is the first choice. Thus, 304 is generally limited to rods or sheets that are to be machined into components that do not require welding, or sheets formed in articles, such as kitchen sinks or cookware, which are also not welded.
