UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

The 800 series alloys were developed in the 1950s. At the time, nickel was in high demand for defense. To create heat and corrosion resistant materials with lower nickel content for commercial use, the 800 series alloys are made. Incoloy 800 has 2 notable changes. Alloy 800H (UNS N08810) limits the carbon content to the higher end of the acceptable range for Incoloy 800. Alloy 800 HT (UNS N08811) limits the carbon, aluminium and titanium content all to the high end. The advantages of confined chemistry result in higher creep strength and stress rupture performance.

Inconel 718 nuts have excellent resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking due to their nickel-chromium content. Nickel in Alloy 718 helps to resist the alkalinity of many inorganic and organic compounds over a wide range of acidity and acidity, with the exception of strongly oxidizing compounds. Its chromium content makes it resistant to sulfur compounds and mild oxidizing media, while molybdenum helps prevent pitting.

Carbon steel nut and bolt grades are divided into three different categories based on the carbon content of mild, medium and high carbon steels. Mild steel hex bolts are the most widely used category of all carbon steel groups. Mild steel threaded bolt alloys typically contain less than 0.25% carbon by weight. Since this type of carbon steel bolt cannot be hardened by heat treatment to promote the formation of martensite, the alloy is cold worked.
