There is more carbon in 316 stainless steel than 316L. This is easy to remember because the L stands for “low”. Stainless Steel 304 Sheet is made up of an austenitic stainless steel that has 18% chromium and 8% nickel in the composition. This is the most used grade of all stainless steels in the world.

Alloy 254 SMO is a low carbon content high end molybdenum and nitrogen alloy super austenitic stainless steel. It exhibits excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion stress cracking and corrosion fatigue uniform corrosion.

UNS N08367 also commonaly called as AL6XN alloy. AL-6XN alloy (UNS N08367) is a low carbon, nitrogen-bearing and high purity “super-austenitic” stainless alloy. The corrosion resistance and high strength of the Al6XN WN Flange make it a better choice than the conventional duplex stainless steels such as 904L or 254 SMO where excellent weldability, formability, corrosion resistance and strength are essential.
