Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

These ASTM A182 Grade F5 Flanges gives extraordinary erosion resistance in, for instance, caustic and acidic applications which includes sulphuric and higher chloride environments. 254SMO (UNS S31254, ASTM F44, 1.4547) is a so-called super austenitic stainless steel. By increasing the molybdenum content to 6%, it achieves a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) > 43, which is similar to Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS).

It includes solid design, wear resistance, very good durability, solid construction, corrosion resistance, excellent strength, best quality.

Super Duplex is used in gas and oil industry, on offshore platforms, chemical processing equipment pressure vessels and boilers, in heat exchangers.

For 304L stainless steel pipe, the range of carbon content in the steel affects the corrosion resistance of the tank. During the welding of steel, a phenomenon called “chromium carbide precipitation” occurs at temperatures between 800 and 1500¡ãF (425 and 815¡ãC). Chromium combines with carbon in the heat affected zone and precipitates as chromium carbide at grain boundaries. As a result, it significantly reduces the corrosion resistance of the steel in this area. Due to the lower carbon content of 304L steel, the risk of chromium carbide precipitation is greatly reduced.
