Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Nickel-copper-based alloy 400 Monel 2.4360 cold drawn rod is virtually immune to chloride stress-related corrosion cracking when exposed to corrosive media in typical environments. Monel 400 is a copper and nickel based alloy that is popular today due to its high performance. The alloy has excellent acid and alkali resistance. In addition, it has good tensile strength, ductility, excellent thermal conductivity, and can be hardened by cold work. Additionally, it can be used in applications with temperatures ranging from minus to 538 degrees Celsius.

Nickel based 800 Incoloy Hexagonal Pipe is known to have a good resistance to corrosion. Specifically speaking, the Incoloy 800 Pipe offers sufficient resistance against both carburization as well as oxidation corrosion.

304 stainless steel plate is comprised of at most 0.08% carbon. 304 stainless steel plate also includes at most 2.0% manganese and 0.75% silicon.

The best corrosion resistance for general corrosion is carbon steel LF3 round bar. Carbon steel LF3 threaded rods have excellent ductility and creep resistance. Carbon steel LF3 polishing rods have the greatest resistance to oxidation corrosion. The best welding and fabrication quality is found in carbon steel LF3 flat bars. Carbon steel LF3 bars are mainly used in the construction of skyscraper bridges and shipbuilding. Carbon steel LF3 threaded rods are commonly used in pharmaceutical equipment. Carbon steel LF3 round bars are also widely used in heat exchangers and valves.

Alloy 800 plate is resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Nickel 800 plate is also used in chemical and petrochemical processing. Nickel 800 plate is available in any length, cut to order or machined to customer requirements.

The corrosion resistance comes from the addition of alloying material, mostly the chromium content. The ASTM A790 Pipes are resistant to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion. The pipes could also be electric fusion welded.

Chromium, when added to Alloy 600 Inconel rods along with nickel, increases the alloy’s resistance to sulfur-containing compounds while providing resistance to oxidizing conditions at high temperatures or in the presence of corrosive solutions.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.

Carbon steel forgings, manufactured in accordance with ASTM A105, are generally used for piping applications. The A105N, which is designated with a suffix ¡°N¡±, denotes that the A105 forging shall be furnished in normalized condition. If the forgings are used for piping applications of ASME BPVC or ASME B31, the material shall be its identical equivalent of SA-105 or SA-105N. In short, the heat treatment of normalization distinguishes A105N from A105, or SA-105N from SA-105. ASTM A105 Flange is a specification of flanges. The specification can include different grades of stainless steel material made flanges. The flanges are of forged carbon steel and are meant for high temperature services.

Grade 304 stainless steel is generally considered the most common austenitic stainless steel.

Chromium confers resistance to sulfur compounds and also provides resistance to oxidizing conditions at high temperatures or in corrosive solutions.

This alloy is widely used in chemical and food processing, power generation, furnace components and many other market segments.

The standard austenitic steels like 304 (1.4301) and ferritic steels like 430 are relatively easy to make and to fabricate. As their names imply, they consist mainly of one phase, austenite or ferrite. Although these types are fine for a wide range of applications, there are some important technical weaknesses in both types.

Hastelloy X pipe bend is widely used for a variety of chemical processing parts, including retorts, pyrolysis tubing, and muffles due to its exceptional resistance to stress-corrosion cracking.

Under alternating oxidizing and reducing conditions, alloys may suffer from selective oxidation.

The alloy is forged between 2250/1750oF (1230/955oC) and then soaked at the forging temperature for 30 minutes per inch of billet or ingot section thickness. Forging should begin immediately, the billet is removed from the reheat furnace, a 25/40% reduction helps retain as much internal heat as possible.
