310S stainless steel has good high temperature resistance. When the temperature exceeds 800 [1], it begins to soften, and the allowable stress begins to decrease continuously. The maximum operating temperature is 1200 ¡ãC. Due to the high content of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr), it has good oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and high temperature resistance. After the content, the strength is improved due to its solid solution strengthening effect. The chemical composition characteristics of austenitic stainless steel are based on chromium and nickel with elements such as molybdenum, tungsten, niobium and titanium added. Therefore, it has high strength and creep strength at high temperature.

The flange connection type usually comes with a double unit, with washers and some bolts and nuts to connect to each other. As a low alloy steel grade, ASTM A182 F22 flanges outperform carbon steel, especially in applications involving high temperatures.

254 SMo UNS S31254 super austenitic steel combines moderate tensile strength with high ductility for excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and various industrial environments. Grade 304L, the low carbon version of 304, does not require post-weld annealing and so is extensively used in heavy gauge components (over about 6mm). Grade 304H with its higher carbon content finds application at elevated temperature. The austenitic structure also gives these grades excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperature.

The installation process for a 304 stainless steel SO flange is relatively simple. Firstly, the pipe end is prepared by cleaning it and ensuring that 1.4301 flange is free from damage and debris. 304 is chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. Better corrosion resistance than Type 302. High ductility, excellent drawing, forming and spinning properties. Inherently non-magnetic, it becomes slightly magnetic when cold worked. Low carbon content means less precipitation of carbides in the heat affected zone during welding and less susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.

The lower carbon content of the stainless steel 304 thread bar reduces chromium carbide precipitation from welding and its susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.
