Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

It demonstrates good resistance to neutral and reducing environments. This alloy creates a tenacious oxide, protective film that does not spall off, but it retains superior oxidation resistance at soaring temperatures.

AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) > 40, providing superior pitting and crevice corrosion capabilities to austenitic and duplex stainless steels in virtually all corrosive media, and critical pitting temperature Above 50¡ãC .

UNS N10665 or W.Nr. 2.4617, Hastelloy B2 (also known as “Alloy B2”), is a solid solution reinforced Ni Mori with low additions of carbon, silicon and iron. It can be used to reduce chemical environment and chemical processing industry. However, Hastelloy B2 should not be used in temperatures from 1000¡ãF to 1600¡ãF and should not be used in oxidizing media.

Also known as alloy K500, Monel K500 bolts are comprised of a nickel alloy that combines the outstanding corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with increased strength and hardness.

AISI 904L washers are thin flat ring-type assemblies that are bolted between a bolt and a nut to evenly distribute the load on threaded fasteners. Stainless steel 904L washer has excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion in chemicals containing chlorides and sulfuric, phosphoric and nitric acids. SS 904L washer also contains niobium for stabilization against sensitization and resulting intergranular corrosion, a transformation that is not complete until temperatures drop to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Alloy 347 (UNS S34700) is columbium stabilized austenitic stainless steel plate with good general corrosion resistance and somewhat better resistance in strong oxidizing conditions than 321 (UNS S32100).

Stainless Steel 310s Flanges, Like other austenitic grades these have excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures, although other grades are normally used in this environment..

Designers may have the option to reduce the wall thickness of the duplex 2205 welded pipe, because of its high yield strength. These flanges are designed to comply with International standards and specifications. Monel R405 offers about the same corrosion resistance as nickel but with higher maximum working pressures and temperatures and at a lower cost due to its superior ability to be machined.
