At higher temperatures, Incoloy 800 fasteners provide resistance to vulcanization, carburization and oxidation, as well as fracture and creep strength. Incoloy 800 bolts are a solid solution austenitic alloy. Appearing in the microstructure of Incoloy 800 are chromium carbide, titanium carbide and titanium nitride. Incoloy 800H Hex Head Bolts are easy to machine using standard methods. Thermoforming of Incoloy 800 is done in the temperature range of 870 to 1200 ¡ãC (1600 to 2200 ¡ãF). Incoloy 800 screws are used in power plants.

ASTM A193 Grade B7M bolts and studs have the same chemical composition as Grade B7 (quenched and tempered medium carbon alloy steel) but have lower strength requirements requiring 100% hardness testing on all fasteners manufactured in the batch. Inconel 718 alloy is also used in industries such as oil and gas drilling and production due to its high tensile strength and good corrosion resistance to chloride-related stress cracking and sulfide-related stress cracking. In these industries, Ams 5663 material has been used to manufacture various parts such as valves, pump shafts and wellhead components.

Type 17-4 PH stainless steel is the most widely used of all precipitation hardening stainless steels. Its valuable feature set offers designers the opportunity to increase product reliability while simplifying manufacturing and reducing cost.

Duplex steel UNS S32205 round bar has excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to localized corrosion such as intergranular corrosion, crevice corrosion and pitting corrosion.

Incoloy 825 is stable annealed at 940°C. The softest structure was obtained at 980°C. Sections heavier than sheet, strip and wire should be quenched to avoid sensitivity.

Applications for ASME SB408 Alloy 825 round bar are chemically machined components, pollution control, vapor recovery, pickling tank components, and nuclear fuel processing. ASME SB408 Alloy 825 bar has excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive environments including oxidation and reduction.

Inconel600 is suitable for welding with the same material or other metals by any traditional welding process, such as tungsten electrode inert gas welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas shielded welding, molten arc inert gas shielded welding, and pulsed arc welding. Welding is the preferred solution. When using manual arc welding, it is recommended to use a shielding gas mixed with various components (Ar+He+H2+CO2).
Welding of Incoloy 825 must be carried out in the annealed condition and cleaned with a stainless steel wire brush to remove stains, dust and various markings. When welding the root of the weld, extreme care must be taken (Argon 99.99) to obtain the best quality of the root weld so that the weld does not produce oxides after the root has been welded. Color from the weld heat-affected zone should be removed with a stainless steel brush while the weld area is not cool.

In conclusion, when looking at 304 vs 316 stainless steel, for applications that require superior corrosion resistance or water resistance, use 316 stainless steel. For other applications, 304 stainless steel will work just as well.
