Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Inconel 600 round bar is a nickel-based alloy with benign carburization and excellent corrosion resistance at high temperatures. The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object (as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails). The term “flange” is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.

The ASTM A320 specification, originally approved in 1948, covers alloy steel and stainless steel bolting materials for low temperature service.

Duplex 2205 stainless steel (ferritic and austenitic) is widely used in applications requiring good corrosion resistance and strength. Grade S31803 stainless steel was modified several times to form UNS S32205, which was recognized in 1996.

2507 is used for Chemical process industries, heat exchangers, vessels, and piping, desalination plants, high pressure RO-plant and seawater piping, mechanical and structural components, high strength, corrosion-resistant parts.

ASTM B564 UNS N08825, also known as Incoloy 825, is a high nickel alloy that is used in high corrosion and high temperature applications. It has different designations in different countries: ASTM B424 Gr. UNS N08825(US), DIN 17750 Gr. 2.4858, JIS G4902 Gr. NCF 825.

Hex bolts are used to fasten two or more parts together to form an assembly either because it cannot be manufactured as a single part or to allow for maintenance and repair disassembly. By definition “A Bolt is a headed and externally threaded mechanical device designed for insertion through holes in assembled parts to mate with a nut and is normally intended to be tightened or released by turning that nut.” When used with a preformed internally threaded (tapped) hole, the hex bolt’s head is turned to tighten, which technically makes it a screw (see our Tech Data section for a discussion regarding the differences between bolts and screws). Hex bolts are also known as: hex head bolts, cap screws, hex cap screws, hex head cap screws, machine bolts, hex machine bolts, hex head machine bolts and, if fully threaded, tap bolts, hex tap bolts and hex head tap bolts. A hex bolt is often differentiated from a hex cap screw by its underhead bearing surface: if it has a circular boss, called a washer face, it’s a hex cap screw¡ªif it doesn’t then it’s a hex bolt.

Duplex stainless steels have a microstructure which is 50% ferritic and 50% austenitic. This composition gives them a better strength than either ferritic or austenitic steels. Further details about this topic are given below (see ASTM A790 pipes).

Alloy 625 / Inconel 625 is used for its high strength, excellent fabricability (including joining), and outstanding corrosion resistance.

Astm B564 Monel 400 Blind Flanges A nickel-copper alloy, Monel 400 flanges are a solid solution nickel alloy that can only be hardened by cold working. Best known for its corrosion resistance to reducing media and seawater, Monel 400 is also tougher in oxidizing environments than copper alloys. Also known as alloy 400, Monel 400 flanges are also utilized in high temperature, caustic and salt solution applications.

ASTM A182 F53 flanges refer to flanges made from super duplex stainless steel 2507 (UNS S32750) by a hot forging process.

ASTM B564 UNS N04400 Slip on Flange the Monel 400 Flanges shows evidence of excellent temperature. On the other hand, properties such as Strength and hardness of the Monel 400 Lap Joint Flange is only slightly diminished with regards to the other properties like ductility or impact resistance. Besides its the alloy is renowned for its toughness or impact strength properties. And therefore is very appropriately used in applications like chemical and hydro-carbon processing, heat exchangers, valves and pumps.

The outstanding and versatile corrosion resistance of INCONEL 625 alloy under a wide range of temperatures and pressures is a primary reason for its wide acceptance in the chemical processing field.

As a highly economical stainless steel featuring high corrosion resistance, Incoloy 926 (N08926) is highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media and sulfur-containing hydrogen environments.

These ASTM A350 Flanges LF3 are suitable for use down to 150oF (LF3). These LTCS A350 LF3 orifice plate flanges are basically used in high energy/high temperature channel systems.

Incoloy 825 weld neck flange Alloy 825 Flanges also offer good mechanical features. The flanges produced by us are said to be sturdy and leakproof. They have a melting point of 1413 degrees C. and a density of 8.47g/cm3.

Flanges are modules, which are utilized in joining piping modules of different shapes and sizes. A flange is typically composed of different classes, which helps in utilizing and identifying different features of the products. ISO and ANSI are important standards, which govern the industry.

For 304L stainless steel pipe, the range of carbon content in the steel affects the corrosion resistance of the tank. During the welding of steel, a phenomenon called “chromium carbide precipitation” occurs at temperatures between 800 and 1500¡ãF (425 and 815¡ãC). Chromium combines with carbon in the heat affected zone and precipitates as chromium carbide at grain boundaries. As a result, it significantly reduces the corrosion resistance of the steel in this area. Due to the lower carbon content of 304L steel, the risk of chromium carbide precipitation is greatly reduced.
