Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. Inconel 718 is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy containing large amounts of iron, niobium and molybdenum, and small amounts of aluminum and titanium. 718 material maintains high strength and good ductility at temperatures up to 1300¡ãF (704¡ãC). Compared with other precipitation hardening nickel alloys, this alloy has relatively good weldability, formability and excellent low temperature properties. The alloy’s slow precipitation hardening reaction makes it easy to weld without hardening or cracking. Inconel? Alloy 718 is non-magnetic.
