Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. 2507 is a super-duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel for service in highly corrosive conditions.

A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
