Copper-nickel blind flanges are solid flanges. Its purpose is to close an unused section of pipe or nozzle on the container. Cuni blind flanges are stronger and have superior impact corrosion resistance. Copper-nickel flanges are also used in thermocouples because it produces a high and uniform EMF when combined with other metals such as copper and iron. Good formability makes it easy to flare and bend, and although metal costs are higher than steel alternatives, cupronickel flanges are attractive for their additional service life, trouble-free installation and safety/reliability features.
