PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ASME SB-446 Gr. 1 AMS 5666 Inconel 625 round bar steel bar rod

1.Key Features & Properties

Inconel Alloy 625 (UNS designation N06625) is a nickel-based superalloy that possesses high strength properties and resistance to elevated temperatures. It also demonstrates remarkable protection against corrosion and oxidation. Its ability to withstand high stress and a wide range of temperatures, both in and out of water, as well as being able to resist corrosion while being exposed to highly acidic environments makes it a fitting choice for nuclear and marine applications.

Inconel 625’s combination of refractory metals and alloys exhibit uniform performance at temperatures ranging from cryogenic to over 1000 degrees Celsius/2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Additional performance characteristics include scaling and oxidation resistance, stabilization during welding, resistance to chloride stress and corrosion cracking, and outstanding fatigue strength. Inconel 625 bars, sheets, plates and forgings are non-magnetic. This makes Inconel 625 a mainstay of the aerospace, hardware manufacturing, marine engineering, chemical processing and power generation industries.

2.Features
  • High creep-rupture strength

  • Oxidation resistant to 1800°F

  • Good fatigue resistance

  • Excellent weldability

  • Outstanding resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion

  • Immune to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking

  • Resistant to seawater under both flowing and stagnant conditions and under fouling

3.Applications

Inconel 625 is an austenitic nickel-base super-alloy with excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance. The solid solution strengthening of columbium and molybdenum in the nickel-chromium matrix gives this alloy excellent strength and toughness. Alloy 625 is non-magnetic and can be used for parts that require both oxidation and corrosion resistance up to 2000° F. Inconel 625 has a wide array of applications but preforms well in marine environments, hot sections of jet engines and corrosive, high temperature chemical processing atmospheres.

The strength of 625 comes from a stiffening effect of the niobium and molybdenum on its nickel-chromium matrix, thus PH treatments aren't required. The combination of these elements in Inconel 625 provides for a superior resistance to a variety of corrosive environments of a rather unusual severity in addition to high temperature effects like oxidation and carburization.

Inconel 625 is an appropriate selection for sea water applications, 625 is also good for mooring cables and propeller blades, motors, utility boats, undersea communication cables, springs, seals and other types of marine applications.

Inconel 625 comes in a variety of shapes including, but not limited to: round bar, plate, sheet, pipe, tubing and coil. Are you looking for where to buy 625? Can't find who sells Inconel 625? Look no further, at HT pipe we supply all types of Inconel, not just 625. We also supply 600, 718, 800, and 825.
