About Hastelloy C-2000
Wrought Hastelloy C-2000 is made of a NiCrMo alloy including copper. Highly versatile alloy C2000 prevents stress corrosion cracking and corrosion by different types of chemicals such as sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acids. Unlike other Hastelloy alloys, Nickel 2000 is resistant to both oxidizing and reducing conditions.
Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum C type alloys have been traditionally used in the chemical processing sectors. These metals not only resist the corrosion by strong acids at whole temperature limits, even also prevent the detrimental attack by chlorides and other halide media.

Hastelloy C-2000 Weldability
Hastelloy C2000 can be easily welded by shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and gas metal arc welding methods. The unsuitable welding techniques are Oxy-acetylene and submerged-arc welding.
Post weld stress reduction up to 1202oF or 650oC is unsuitable for Hastelloy alloys. However this kind of heat processing is not important, but if followed, a complete solution annealing at 1149oC or 2100oF then water cooling should be done.
